about

Recorded over 2 months in Berry Street Studio London circa 1990 for release on Midnight Music in 1991. We toured supporting Ian McCulloch in 1991 supposedly to promote the album but Midnight Music had better ideas...going bust and the album was never released, sadly. Bass duties on several tracks were ably performed by my then lieutenant, Chic Murray and drums on several tracks come courtesy of Andy Ramsay (latterly of Stereolab). The album was mixed by myself and engineer Kevin Harris but subsequently mixed again by myself and the (still unpaid) Lincoln Fong (Watermelon Sugar, Moose & Jesus & Mary Chain). One track, Divine in Water was mixed with long-time patron Robin Guthrie and the Cocteau Twins then studio in Acton.
To my ears, some of the songs sound, how shall I put this, 'of their time' but it's a beautiful and heartfelt time-capsule of where my heart, head and mind were at the time. I only wish it had got out when it was supposed to...such is life!
